Hasenstab employees participated in American Heart Association’s National Walking Day on April 3. The event encourages companies to get their employees to get out and walk for at least 30 minutes in an effort to reduce the risk of heart disease. According to the American Heart Association, physical inactivity doubles the risk for heart disease.
The HA team started their walk at the North Side Train Station in Akron and walked approximately 3.3 miles in about an hour. Mark O., Christine, Patti, Brian, Dave, Amador, Lisa R., Pam, Greg, Greg’s wife Lisa, Amber, Tina and Lauren all made the trek. While the weather was still a little chilly, the sun was shining part of the time, which made for a very pleasant walk. Afterwards, the group shared a heart-healthy lunch.
