Glover Community Learning Center
Akron Public Schools
Nathanial L. Glover Elementary & Community Learning Center is a new 56,000 square foot, 400 student school. Hasenstab Architects provided complete architectural services for this project, in a partnership with the City of Akron, Akron Public Schools, and the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
The project included complete site renovation, landscaping and interior design services. The Akron Public Schools’ Community Learning Centers function as schools during the day and community centers in the evening. Spaces such as the gymnasium, dining room, community kitchen, and art and media classrooms are available for public use and continuing education.
Technology incorporated into the classrooms included digital projectors, amplification systems and computer network services. Mechanical and electrical designs included full air conditioning and an addressable fire alarm system with the infrastructure to enhance facility-wide safety.
Programmed spaces for Glover Elementary & Community Learning Center include 15 elementary classrooms, three kindergarten classrooms, two special education classrooms, music and art classrooms, gymnasium, dining room, kitchen, media center and administrative spaces. New site work included ball fields and play areas.
