Portage County, Ohio
Hasenstab Architects provided architectural and structural engineering services for the renovations to the Portage County Prosecutor’s Office in Ravenna, Ohio.
The project scope included the addition of an entire floor to the top of the building and renovations to upgrade the existing building. The dated exterior received a fresh, new design to reflect interior upgrades. The new and renovated spaces include offices for the Portage County Prosecutor, general offices, meeting rooms and grand jury space.
Prosecutor’s Office Challenges:
Tight floor plan; Limited Space
Solution: An entire floor was added, increasing the size of the building by 5,000 square feet. The existing space was reconfigured using an efficient, space saving design.
First floor currently occupied
Solution: Careful communication and scheduling was key to the first floor renovation which remained operational throughout construction. The renovation work was completed in phases to minimize disruptions.
Dated 1960’s exterior
Solution: Designers used thin granite panels to give the exterior a fresh, updated look matching the courthouse across the street while still staying within budget.
