Advanced Manufacturing Addition
This project encompassed a new 3,500 square foot addition to Theodore Roosevelt High School for an Advanced Manufacturing Building. Hasenstab Architects provided professional design services in collaboration with Shook Construction as part of a Design/Build partnership.
The facility supports several career-tech programs, including advanced manufacturing, electronics, robotics and programming, and engineering. The facility is utilized by both students from Theodore Roosevelt High School and students from several surrounding schools. The Advanced Manufacturing Addition provides students with a modern ‘machine shop’ where they receive hands-on experience learning design and manufacturing processes.
A majority of the addition encompasses workshop space that features a variety of advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC laser cutters, 3D printers, and an end mill for creating cutting tools. An adjacent classroom provides space for instruction before or after shop work is completed. A mezzanine level above the classroom provides ample storage space for materials.
