Crime Laboratory Renovation

Approximately 13,826 square feet on the 3rd floor of the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Building, as well as a portion of the basement level, was renovated to accommodate the Cuyahoga County Crime Lab. The new space consists of fingerprint laboratories and offices, fingerprint storage area, AFIS, drug laboratory and offices, secure evidence storage and evidence technicians office, and a ballistics laboratory and offices.

 

The crime laboratory features fume hoods, forensic specialty hoods, laboratory casework, work tables, and storage cabinets/shelving to support the specialized functions and equipment. The project also addressed ADA requirements. This project was submitted to inspection and certification by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/ Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB).
