Ohio Means Jobs and Board of Elections Renovation
This project created new office spaces for Ohio Means Jobs (OMJ) and the Summit County Board of Elections (BOE). The Hasenstab team provided professional design services for this renovation, which took place within an existing Summit County administrative building.
The first phase of the project created a new training center for Ohio Means Jobs. The training center includes classrooms and computer labs, as well as conference rooms and offices. Phase one also featured limited renovations to the new Board of Elections space, which included a new ballot printer, server room, and ballot drop box.
Phase two encompassed an interior and exterior renovation to create a new facility for the Summit County Board of Elections. The facility consolidates three separate Board of Elections spaces into one building that addresses public accessibility, enhances voting security, and provides space for vote processing.
The Board of Elections office was designed to streamline the early and absentee voting processes that have increased drastically in recent years. The facility features a voting center and warehouse space to store the voting equipment used at all precincts in the county. Also included in the facility is a training room, staff offices, and work areas.
